You're not edgy. Or are you?
When building your brand (personal or business) "edgy" content can make you stand out. But, it's not for everyone.

Is your brand really “edgy” if every brand is edgy?
Seems like every brand I see tests to see if its followers have a palate for the edgier side of social media.
For some brands, it works.
For others, it completely alienates your audience.
Before you go edgy, make sure it’s the right fit.
It doesn’t work for every brand.
Facebook, for example, posted about eating people.
Hmmm…
No.
Not working for you Facebook.
Wendy’s is another brand that’s testing the waters.
The fast food chain known for its burgers went all in on snarky comments on its X page (see example in comments).
It kinda works for Wendy’s.
Why?
In my opinion, the brand was maybe third (or worse) in a market dominated by the Golden Arches.
McDonald’s went edgy, so Wendy’s battled back by going even edgier, to the point they started a few battles with the creepy clown burger chain.
For Wendy’s it kinda works.
For Facebook, it’s kinda cringe-worthy.
Before you go edgy with your brand, ensure it’s the right fit and your audience will accept it.
Otherwise, you become a meme and a “what not to do” warning.
How do you feel about brands trying to be edgy and snarky?
Snarky and Edgy Brand Examples
Just to give you a few more references for how to be edgy. Take a look at these restaurant changes.
This is from Wendy’s, which was mentioned above. The burger brand is about as snarky as it gets.

This one is from Denny’s. Not surprising at all that this late-night diner chain has a little snark in its step.
