"I'm an expert" - bad move

Find out why you should NEVER tell people you are an expert.

In partnership with

Show, don’t tell. Never self-proclaim the title “expert.”

Want people to think you're an expert? Start by never saying, "I'm an expert."

It's a red flag. 🚩

When you self-proclaim to be anything, people instantly question it. ❓

So, if you can't tell people you're an expert, then how do you let them know?

Show them.

Show them through content. 🖥

▶ Publish articles with insights and advice.
▶ Help people by answering questions through your social media content.
▶ Partner with other experts on co-produced content projects.
▶ Distribute your content to the right people who can benefit from your expertise.

Show them through word of mouth. 👄

▶ Once you land business, make your clients/customers VERY happy.
▶ Ask those happy customers for online reviews.
▶ Record testimonial videos (also a content thing) with your happy folks saying how much they love you.
▶ Ask for referrals.

Let your content speak FOR you. Let your happy clients/customers speak FOR you.

When you SHOW people you are an expert instead of TELL them, they believe it.

They learn from you.

They hear from others like them that YOU are the right person or business for the job.

When you approach things this way, you gain respect and other people start to spread the word about your legendary expertise!
